hey guys been a while since i posted just got out of the navy a few days ago and back home to the east bay. i have a 1987 5.0 which is a speed density car. me and my dad are looking to freshen up the motor and get either a rebuilt long block or just a new crate motor. rebuilding it will be too much of a project for us. i was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for a place that rebuilds them for cheap or a good place online to buy from. in advance thanks for the help.

Agreed, Hit up Dan AKA turbo50. He is a stand up guy that does great work at a very reasonable price. I have never seen a negative post about him. He is working on my 331 at the moment.

one thing I'd keep in mind is, you get what you pay for.
if your current engine is running good and you want to freshen it up, why not try a head cam intake upgrade, and a set of gears like 3.73 or 4.10. even things like a o/r x pipe can make a big differnece.
a crate motor would be sick too, like an edelbrock , just depends on your budget and intended use.
someone once advised me that the motor is the heart of your car,so do it right the first time, and you go cheep now, you'll pay more in the long run. good luck and welcome back !
