my 65 had no brake lights. upon investigating i figured it was becasue there was no brake light switch. i got a new switch, tested the switch, it is fine. when i put it in, still no brake lights. took it out, shorted across the switch plug. it got hot FAST and i started hearing clicking, presumably from the head light circuit breaker. i am puzzed. presumably i have a short to ground somewhere but why does it not screw up when the switch is installed? thanks.

in case anybody backchecks this, it WAS the turn signal switch. it had a short to ground in the brake light loop. had to replace the switch, which isn't a lot of laughs.
