Why would it mess it up? Only thing I could think of is it retaining more heat now. Another question why you asking this now after it is already powder coated?

I hope it was sealed up REALLY well prior to coating. Not to mention how hot was it cooked during the coating process? Anything more than 250-275* may have hurt a seal or two...

Find someone that does polishing. They look great after they are buffed out!

Do NOT powdercoat the compressor. Unless the unit is torn down to just the shells the process will destroy it. Powdercoating temps are 475-500 degrees. Nothing on that unit is designed for those temps. Just have it polished. Actually you can do that your self provided you have the patients.

a little wet sanding and a buffer wheel will make it look alot better...

break it down if you do decide to do this otherwise you'll cook the seals...
