So I got my heads installed, aluminum trick flows heads roller rockers, trick flow track heat intake, 42lbs, 90mm lightning Maf, put my vortech s trim back on, got a tune. & my car keeps idling crazy then turns off??? Why? I changed the o2 sensor like a month ago, I checked em yesterday and there hella black already. Is this a tune problem, I got a tune at Nextgen. My car also lags as in misfires when I push the gas? Rpm's drop fast too! Any one know why???

I have heard those 90mm Lighting MAF are shit on our cars. Might start there, but then you need a retune. I know tuners hate them.

How was the car running during the tune? Sounds like a possible MAF issue.. but dont quote me on that since I've never seen the car. Got a friend that has a 90mm MAF from a 03/04 cobra on his 98 cobra and his car did/does the same thing (revs and misfires)and it was an issue with his MAF.

Ya that's what a couple people told me, but that's wack cuz Nextgen told me to get the lightning maf. But I guess I gotta upgrade that maf then

if it has never ran well, then it has a bad tune.
a lightning maf can work just fine in a draw through setup car with 42lb injectors, the MAF might need cleaning or there could be something wrong with it, was it bought new or used?

what was the purpose of the tune if it's running like shit right now? i would be talking to them.

He said "he doesn't think it's a tune problem"

did you tune it before of after the heads?

I Had a tune before and after the heads.. Last. Time he tuned it my car would sometimes misfire at high Rpm's. This guy really sucks at tunning!

a misfire at high RPM's is probably not a tune issue, more likely something is wrong mechanically.

I agree, I could have told you stay away from there. AED get your money back nextgen BLOWS.

First off.. check for vaccuum leaks.. intake gasket, lines, etc. That would cause a major hunting idle. Also, those stock Vortech "dryer hose" intakes are known to leak.
You can try other things like cleaning your MAF and checking codes.

OR, you can just take it to AED, and they'll do everything for you. Problem solved. Sometimes, it's better to save, make the drive and pay the coin to get it done right, then go with the convenience of maybe that shop being closer, etc.

Then why would you go back a second time?

Get my money worth from them until I can save up for another tune!

is your blow off valve open or is it going back into the blower. i had a similer problem with a car recently. and it was a after market blow off valve that was open causing the car to run like the intake tube was off. we fed it into the the powerpipe and it ran perfect. if that was the case your tuner should of caught that unless your using a mail order base tune. im using a lighting mass air and it works great.
