I just picked up a 98 Mustang gt 4.6 5 speed once i press the clutch pedal a loud squeeqy noise comes on and as soon as i release it it goes away. what can it be

Just had this on my car also. Sounds like the pilot or throw out bearing going bad. How many miles on the car? You may need a new clutch altogether.

130k but they changed the clutch when it had 110k i beleived they didnt change the piolot bearing

definently pilot or throwout bearing. have them both replaced to be sure when the tranny is out. bearings are cheap, labor isnt even if its your own know what i mean LoL

Sounds like a throw out bearing
