I have an explorer with a transmission that only moves in reverse. When put into any other gear it just dies out. Im thinking it is the TCC solenoid and/or possibly the valve body.

A. Has anybody experienced this before, what was the outcome

B. I've heard you could replace the TCC solenoid without taking the valve body out, is this possible. I havent looked at the transmission yet to find out but I will tonight.

there a tsb for the shift pack senloid going bad on those transmissions
