Anybody have any good info on the v-trim supercharger? And is the s-trim better? And is it safe for a rebuild't 302 5.0 with trick flow hci long tubes.

Well, there isn't really a v-trim. Typically the "v" designation is for a particlar "trim".. for example.. V1 S-trim, V2 S-trim, etc..

S or SC trim are tired and true and will serve you well. Whether they will work on your setup depends on boost level you want to run, your compression ratio, and your tune and fuel system.

If you motor is stock then 6-8lbs of boost, 10 degrees of base timing, an FMU, and BTM would work.

That is a good setup.. if you are buying used then make sure the kit is complete. If it not complete make sure you know how much you have to spend to replace any missing parts.

Don't forgot you'll also need to upgrade the fuel side of things with larger injectors, pump, APR, and finish it off with a chip/tune.

on the injectors it cant hurt to buy the big ones.. i was told i needed 36 pound injectors for 6psi of boost but i would need 42's for 8psi.. i got the 48's and they had to add a LOT of fuel, much more than they thought possible before they put it on the dyno. it cant hurt to have a little extra capability than is needed on every part.

im going to take my car by aed sometime soon. sorry for the slight threadjack.

did you use the 80 maf with the 42lb injectors? thats what im thinking.

Posted by SCCA SM (Member # 9758) on :

lolol i have absolutely no clue what maf is in my car.. i think i have 48's or 42's.. the green cap bosh/ford racing injectors.

be prepared to loose HELLA fuel economy. on a good day driving like granny i get 14mpg.. on a fun day im lucky to get over 10 to the gallon. i was told it would use more fuel but my face looked like >> [Eek!] when i calculated 13.. it was 23 the week prior LOL
