Yes I have. It is a little time consuming but as long as you can cut and weld good no problem. I used the Wolfe Race Craft kit.

I did, never picked up a welder in my life,until i did the tubs.It is very time consuming it took me about three days, but i took my time and it turned out real nice. I work with sheet metal every day so that helped out a bit. Teamzmotorsports.net has a great kit, most of it is pre-fabbed,thats what i used.

John, What size rim/tire did you have in mind? Isn't the LTD rear wheel opening smaller than a mustang?

dont know just want something low an wide in the rear..

i have mm adj hieght lower control arms, looking to put lowering springs on top of that also..

the outer skin looks little different but the fram an everything is the same on inside.

Blown67, You have to ask yourself how 'wide' do you wanna go.

After installing a mini tub kit from wolf craft, there was if i remeber right 16-17 inches from the tub / frame rail to the rear quarter fender.

If you can get down w/ a welder that can penetrate and lay a nice bead through the axles and frame rails for the coilovers then you should go for it. its just time consuming but the finished product, when the car is on the ground is nice.

If your thinking of using the stock lower control arms and springs its kinda not worth it because you have to remove the stock location for the shocks which then is kinda pointless in my opinion.

If run you a 325/50/15, 315/60/15, 345/35/18 you have to use offset lca any ways at that point which is where the coilovers come in. you can get some nice sets from team z or qa1 makes a nice set also.

There are two types of mini tubs to consider:

1. Extension of the 'inner tub' which just extends the same height/length of the stock tub towards the frame rail.

2. Replacement of complete tub (inner and outer) with a taller and longer wheel tub to allow the car to be lowered while still having the ability to run a 315 drag radial or 30" slick with ease.

My black car runs a stock tub but we are mini tubbing the new car. We decided to build carbon fiber tubs for it and have the Wolfe Racecraft version explained in #2 above available for sale. PM if interested...
