im trying to wire my gauges and my question is the 12v wire - i know thats the hot wire....do i connect it to the ignition, and if i do do i place a fuseable link between them, if so what size fuse should i use. and is there another way i can connect the 12v wire without connecting them to the ignition ,perhaps another source?

im also looking in my book and wondering do i connect the hot wire to the constant voltage unit. i read online that it only puts out 6 volts ans the instructions for the gauges say to connect them to a 12v source such as an ignition. is the wire coming to the constant voltage unit 12v before it goes through the unit ? and 6v when it comes out ?

U can use the ignition, but its a must to put a online fuse, use a 10 amp no bigger

any 12v source with the igition on will work. just poke around with a voltmeter and turn key on and off look for the voltage

Basically, u jus dont want to use the constant otherwise ur battary will drain.
