hi i posted a couple of weeks ago because my car wasnt starting and most of the replys if not all of them were telling me to change my tfi module so i did. and i think i got a lil progress because when i start turning over the motor if cranks n cranks but no start. thats wit the kill switch off but when its turned on it turns over n then it makes a sucking noise and doesnt want to crank over any more. i think my timing is way off n thats y it wont start. after doing it for a few seconds it really smelled like gas. what do u guys think?

ok here why your most likely to be smelling gas if i remember right you pulled the distributor out.now when you put back together your 180 out on the the timing.now the who you are going to fix this pull number one plug out stick your finger over the hole an tap the engine over when you feel the compression blow your finger of the hole look at the timing marks an look were the rotor point at line the timing marks up pull the distributor out an line up the right way

Sounds like some troubleshooting is in order before you replace any more parts
First, determine if you have spark and fuel. They make spark testers that go inline with your spark plug or u can pull one of the plugs and ground it out on the head.
Best way to check fuel is with a fuel pressure gauge.. if you don't have one either get one or maybe someone else has a good way.
Once you have determined that you are getting both spark and fuel then check your timing.
Try the tests above and then post back up

ok i have spark and fuel. im sure its the timing. so when i tap the motor over itll blow my finger off the hole and the timing mark was off by a lot from zero top dead center. so i rotated the crank backwards so it will line up wit 0 tdc. now when i take the dist off the rotor lined up it #1 cylinder. so i took the dist. off then pointed the rotor towards #1 cylinder and as i droped it in the rotor went to like cylinder number four. is that whats suppost to happen? im scared to turn over cus afraid something else might go wrong
