My car has been dying a lot when I come to a stop. It used to do it every now and then.... but now it seems like everytime I come to a stop it dies. It either idle surges and dies at the light or just shuts off as soon as I put the clutch in. Its a 93 coupe with a 302 and all the usual bolt ons and an e-cam. Any ideas??

Either your idle is too low, go to 1K RRM, or replace idle air motor.

The IAC is pretty new biut ill check it. The distributor isn't loose at all..... it runs fine. It always has. It used to do it maybe like once or twice a week but now it seems like its at every stop! And its getting irretating. It idles fine when it dose.

vehicle speed sensor broken/unplugged will cause that too, it's in the side of the trans where the speedo cable plugs in.

Any codes? When I got my 89 the car would stumble and stall when I would come to a stop like a traffic light or stop sign and when I come to a stop the engine light would come on and the idle would fall off and stall, I would fire it up and the idle was solid 850-900, but if I takeoff and come to another stop it would do it again I ran the codes and my EGR position sensor was out of wack, changed it and idles like a champ never had it happen again. Recently though I had a weird idle problem and it would happen sometimes and die it ended up being the tps and the tps was a year old(motorcraft) it could not find correct base voltage

what does IAC stand for? i have been having idling issues wt my car also. when i first turn my car on the idle goes very low and causes the car to stall unless i give it gas. after the car warms up and i have been driving it around, when i stick my clutch in and put the car in neutral the idle tends to go high (around 1500 rpm). any ideas what might be causing this?

IAC....Idle air control

IAC, is the idle air control valve. It is attached to the front of the Throttle Body.
