we do that here at my shop theres a couple things you can do cheaply in the rebuild before you have to go hardend gear gear sets and stuff but then it gets expensive.200 to 250 in labor and the rebuild kit is 225 and theres about a 100 worth of after market goodies that can help out with the minor weak links,

Bought a T5 that was already rebuilt by 68stanger a long time ago it worked great so I recently had him rebuild a core that I had laying around, some time in november. (he did it for cheap too). I picked up one of the better master rebuild kits (kit has Timkin bearings) and had it rebuilt by him, dropped it off on a friday and that shit was finished by saturday afternoon. [patriot]

the kit is just the stock stuff to rebuild, gaskets, bearings and sycros ,the ford racing has the timkin bearings, but thats not the weak link.there a bearing in there that needs to be preloaded that cant be, unless you buy 100 bucks of after market goodies , and the harded gear sets stuff starts at a like a 1000 bucks. we also do it here, but it doesnt sound like you wanna go that route with only 400, and it doesnt take more than 4 hours to if theres no intereuptions, a day to do at most, if you let me know i can have everything in advance.
