The rear end will be just a simple swap. You're also going to have to get some different ebrake cables, cuz the old one won't work with the newt rear end.

From what i've read it all depends on which wheels your planning on running. The 96 stuff will work it just doesnt retain factory foxbody track width( its ~3/4'' wider than the fox's). If you run an 8 inch wheel it will be fine but you will need some mud flaps if you decide to go to 9 inchers. ALL the info you will ever need on 5 lug conversions is on the Corral forums. [patriot]

You can run _x9 as long as the off set is correct without the tires sticking out from what Ive read and people have showed me pictures, also Im not sure if the 96 front spindles are different from 94/95 5 used some 2003 spindles on my 1985 GT and its sitting on my driveway with the front wheels toed in like crazy

So here are your options from what i've been told(if in fact those spindles are different):
1. Get a 2003 rack and pinion which I have if you need it and you'll also need a steering linkage which MM sells for like $200 or fab one up or

2. Go the easy route and get your self some different spindles

yea thanks guys i was doin my homework on it and if iwanna use 96 and up spindles i would have to change my k member cause not only they sit slightly more out they sit alot lower thats probably why your wheels were toed so still getting the rear end but gonna have to go 94\95 on the front cause changin the k member doesn't look exciting to do [dance]

The 96+ rearends use a brake line that is dropped down from the frame to each caliper.
You will need to either get a 94/95 V8 brake line that attaches to the rearend or use your existing line and transfer it over but it will need to be shortened/bent and the 94+ brake hose with bracket installed.

The best route to go is 94/95 spindles, the track width on these is a few millimeters narrower than 96+ and put most factory 94+ wheels at fenders edge (17x8)They also have the best geometry with the curved steering arm.

The 94+ racks are too much hastle to install with different coupling fitting and longer inner/outer tie rods.
You can't install a 96+ K-member as the motor mounts are set up for modular motors not pushrod.
You also don't want to use the A-arms from 94+ as they will increase track width also (wider)

To convert your front switch out ONLY the spindles, this can be done with either 94/95 (optimal) or 96+
This is a VERY easy conversion with the ball joint spacer and passenger brake line adapter.
