unlike a ford distributor cap that is marked where the #1 post is on the cap and their is lil notches so you know which way the cap faces, im struggling with a 1984 buick motor its a 231 cu v6. the distributer cap has no aliment marks. it just has the 4 hooks so i don't know if the cap is in the right position, also wheres the # 1 post on the cap "its not indicated"?? the cap looks like this> http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=5787470

if you look there is a allignment notch on cap and dizz

Looks like any other HEI cap, it should have a notch to align the cap to distributor.
