Everytime i shift to 4th gear my gear grinds...it also happends when I reverse..what could be the problem and how do i fix it?

your gonna have your trans rebuilt. i can do it for 450 to 500

you have something in your trans called a slider and that slider needs to engage on a gear. those gears are spinning very fast inside the transmission, synchros slow those gears down just enough so the slider can have an easier time engaging the gear.

so basically synchros are like brake pads, they slow the spinning gears down. if there worn out, the slider will have problems engaging with the gear, thats were the grinding noise as you shift comes from (gears clashing with the gears engagement teeth.

a synchro kit is just that, a synchronizer kit.
