I'm about to start a project of helping venemous notch put an 04 supercharged 4valve cobra motor into a fox body. Has anyone completed this conversion? What would I need custom parts wise? Any help would be greatly appreciated [patriot]

What do you need to know? Im working on a sidejob and it has an 03/04 cobra motor swap into it. It is a fox body coupe. Looks pretty straight forward to be honest.

Only real specialty part to order is the K member designed for that modular to drop into the fox. U just have to transplant everything from the cobra into the fox with cutting and drilling as needed. Keep the hydroboost, Custom crossmember and driveshaft for the transmission, modify the dash for the cluster to fit. I haven't done one but these are just my assumptions

But has anyone actually ever finished this conversion?

Yup.

If you've got a donor car, there are NO custom parts needed. If you think you're gonna do it on the cheap because your uncle/BFF/buddy from another site said you can, good luck.

Can you wire the motor to the foxs cluster? If not then how do you install a cobra cluster in the foxs dash? Is there another cluster that will work for this application?

What do you mean by donor car? We have the complete motor and trans with all the accesories from the 04 cobra. It will go into an 89 notchback ex-chp. You've done this?

You can wire it in, if you're good with wiring schematics and have patience. Otherwise, use ALL the wiring from a 03-04 Cobra.

"Donor" car means a wrecked/salvaged/etc car you can pull EVERYTHING from. You will need more than just a motor, trans, and driveshaft.

And yes, I've done it...and will again. [Wink]

Check out modular fords .com and go to modular conversion page. There is a lot of information there.
