just purchased an 88 5.0 lx 5 spd after waiting for 8 years since my last fox....anyway, car had a broken clutch cable. replaced that along with the quadrant. shifts fine in all forward gears except for reverse. it will violently pop out of gear after rolling for a few feet. im no tech here, any ideas? thanx all.

I do not believe it is a syncro since reverse is an unsyncronized gear.
Hopefully it is nothing too bad tho.
