i've been having a problem with my car not staying on. i put in a new motor and i allready put everything together. i set the fuel pressure at 40 without vaccum, my timing's at 12 degr. or so, but it just wont stay on unless i give it gas. this thing's driving me crazy. any help is appreciated thanks.

turn the idle screw up more then it is know and then a little more and adjust it where u want it.. It's pretty easy

Have a buddy start it up and you control the throttle from the engine compartment and adjust it at the same time.....

You might have a bad iac motor.Or you have a bad vacuum leak in the upper manifold..
Check around the throttle body...

finally figured it out my dam iac valve was fucked. swaped it out and wala magic. thanks for the help guys now all i need to do is set my tps and that's it. thanks again

IIRC there is no need to adjust the tps, the computer handles all of that. It just needs to be in a range of .50-1.20.
edit - What I stated is for a 5.0L motor. Your OP didn't specify what motor this is.
