SO I HAVE A 302 BLOCK AND I WAS TOLD IF I TAKE THE E-CAM OUT THE NEXT OWNER IS GOING TO HAVE TO RE-BALANCE THE MOTOR AGAIN IS THAT TRUE? WHAT ELSE SHOULD I NOT TAKE OUT FOR THE NEXT OWNER NOT TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT TROUBLE? OR BETTER YET WHAT SHOULD I SELL IT WITH? LMK ASAP PLEASE THANKS

well my opinion is if you didnt have to balance it when you put it in why would you have to when you take it out? jus rebuild it bak stock. id rather buy a stock motor and do wut i want den to take over somebody elses project.

you will have to remove the balancer but you won't have to rebalance the motor. Just sell it with the cam it's not worth that much inside or outside the motor anyway. Maybe 75 bucks give or take either way. Leave it in .

YEA I SHOULD I DIDN'T KNOW IT MADE A DIFFERENCE THOUGH IT'S STILL A 302 BLOCK, ANYWHO ALL I REALLY WANNA KNOW IS HOW MUCH SHOULD I SELL THIS BLOCK FOR? I DON'T WANNA TAKE NOTHING OUT OF THE BLOCK I'M LEAVING THE E-CAM THE PISTONS AND THE CRANK SHAFT AND WHAT EVER ELSE IS INSIDE A BLOCK LMK EVERYTHING HAS A LITTLE LESS THAN 2K MILES

$1500 for the entire engine would be about it. Anything more than that, you might as well buy new.

yea i jus checked chp and d.s.s for around 2k you could get a 306 shortblock forged internals..so yea 1500 would prolly be fair..although stangsrus is selling a longblock 302 with afr heads and a f cam..so thats pretty hard to beat..goodluck tho

from my own experiences you probably won't get more than 650 for the shortblock alone and I would say that on the high side. I sold a 306 tfs headed motor with 4k miles on it for a grand with nice rockers 7qt pan etc. And I was talking about the can when I said $75 bucks.
Anyhow try craigslist I've sold a bunch on there also.
Good luck the parting out business right now is flooded with parts one reason I gave up and another reason there is way more money in the stock market and all I got to do is push buttons

if you are selling JUST the shortblock without the heads, cam and intake, tops you'll get is $4-$500 because it's pretty much just a stock 302. what makes it the Gt-40 is the is all the upper parts...

a total package deal for $1,500 is about right but the shortblock really isn't worth much by itself...

Just sell the whole shortblock pistons and everything...I bought my 349 shortblock .with forged internals..for 700 ..so u might get lucky and get the same..
