I just bought a gage cluster with a 140mph speedometer for my 88 5.0 Mustang. I'm not sure what year mustang the gage cluster came out of but it looks exactly the same other than my original one had an 85mph speedometer.

The first problem is that the speed is about 5mph too fast. For example if the speedometer reads 40mph then I am actually doing 35mph.

The second problem is that the speedometer needle is a bit shakey.

I have no idea if these two problems are related or not. Anyone have some advice on whats wrong? Is there any way to fix this without spending a ton of money?

Thanks

Shaking needle caused by the cable not inserted all the way into the vss sensor. The 5mph differnce can also be caused by this but not 100% sure on it.
