I'm about to spray my 4.6 dohc with a wet kit. I've never used nitrous before so I'm tryin to take every safety precaution that I could afford right now.

-custom nitrous sniper tune
-svt focus 255lph fuel pump
-ngk tr6's gapped at .035
-msd digital window switch 3100-6700rpm

I'm gonna start off with a 100 shot which is rated at the rear wheels, should I use the fuel jet for a 125 shot to start just to be safe?

I dont know if i would set my window switch to 6700.... [Eek!]

Well I shift at 7000rpm NA? The higher rpm you go theoritically the nitrous isn't as hard on the internals. Now if you spray at 1500-2500rpm that's really hard on the internals...

i understand that, I personally would spray from 3000-6200 or the most 6500.

I had my window switch set from 3-6200 on my 98.

I can't imagine shifting at 6200rpm with this motor but I'll take it into consideration. Anyone have an opinion on running the richer fuel jet? I can't afford a wideband so i'm gonna rely on checking the plugs (old school...).

You need a WOT switch and a fuel safty switch if you don't already.

The kit comes with a WOT switch, I thought all kits come with it these days that's why I didn't mention it. And i'm not getting a fuel pressure safety switch although I do plan on getting a fuel pressure gauge soon.

I have a NX Gen-x2 kit I'd sell for cheap.

That's a nice accessory kit. I already have the bottle heater and purge kit though...

Anyone know in which mode to program the digital window switch? The MSD instructions say in 1 cylinder mode for COP ignition but some people have told me to do it in 4 cylinder or 8 cylinder mode... very confusing.

Also, is it a good idea to spray through the shift (it's a 4r70w) or should I turn it off 100-200rpm before the shift and it will reactivate in the next gear? My friend was telling me to just spray through the shift. Any help would be appreciated!

Thats why i had mine shut off at 6400, I was running the same tranny in my 98. Have it stop at, lets say 6800 and when it shifts it will start to spray again if you are in the window. Not sure you will want it to spray through the shifts, may puddle up then.......KABOOM, you'll need a new upper intake.

I'm leaning towards having the nitrous switch off at 6400 and to have it shift at that rpm in drive but have the rev limiter set at 7000rpm. I think as long as it doesn't hit the rev limiter it should be fine. I think it maybe harder on the motor if I have the nitrous switch off at 6400 and to shift at 6500-6600 and have it turn back on in the next gear?

I never knew nitrous was so confusing!!!

Yea it's more complicated than it seems... I didn't know what I was getting myself into until I bought the kit and started doing research online.
