my car makes a ticking noise during light braking sounds like its coming from the rear

any comments?

i took the drums off and evrything appears to be normal except that the axles have more than normal play in them...possibly the wheel bearings [patriot]

the axles having play is normal when the drum is off. the reason it has play is because of the C-clips..

i never really heard of a ticking noise when braking, its either squeak, grind or moan. if you hear a tick, might be a tiny rock inside the drum and while it rotates, you can hear a tic noise

Does the tick occur when the car is braking, but in nuetral so the engine idling? Does the tick change with speed?
