Anybody here ever used a "StopLeak" or "Rear Sealer" product in a bottle? It's supposed to stop moderate leaking of oil from the rear/front seals of the crank shaft. I could've bought it and tried it. But, I want testimonials from anyone here that used it before. Thanks.

Many years ago, when I ran an auto repair shop, in N. Cali., the "Bars Leak " rep wanderdd in, asking for 5 minutes of my time.
He requested an empty coolant gallon and I privided one. He filled it with water and added a little of the DRY type(pellet) Bars Leak. He then proceded to punch holes in the jug. The mixture flowed out for monents and sealed itself up.
The Rep then produced a "sieve" (FINE screen strainer) and poured the Bars Leak/H2O mixture through it. (demonstrating how it did not plug the fine screen).
I have used Bars Leak ever since with positive results. Though it can fix leaks, often, for a long time, it is NOT a mechanical repair.
Most OE vehicle manufacturers have added Bars Leak to all new cars, for decades. Used correctly. it is good insurance against small leaks.
Bars Leak also make a more AGRESSIVE coolant sealer. It is the one that comes in a bottle. Looks like rabit poop, in molases. In the 1970's, I had a 65 289 V8 Mustang, tha suddenly began blowing coolant, into the crankcase, out the vent, ONTO THE WINSHIELD! It emptied the system, in about 30 miles. I used the licquid Bars Leak(hoping to get a few days out of it). The system held, for YEARS.
Again, leak sealers don't always work and good mechanical sense, will tell WHEN to use them.

A lot of those oil leak stop products are just lubricants for the rubber seals. They won't help if your leak is mechanical (e.g. a loose bolt or warped mating surface).
