I have a 1989 GT the electric going to the ignition is intermitint (when i put the key in there is no sign of electric no radios lights etc..) sometimes I will get power but when I turn the key to start all i hear is a click and then the power dies again. I checked the battery it has a full charge and works fine I replaced the alternator not too long ago and the car had no problem before hand. Any help is apreciated.

Check for loose ground wires?
Loose battery cables?

check your ignition switch, and starter solenoid they could both be the culprit from what it sounds like

Put a volt meter on both post's and when You turn the key the current should pass through from one side to the other.

Or if you don't have a volt meter one thing I usually do to check the starter is jump the terminals with a large screw driver just make sure you only do it for a sec though and don't touch anyother surfaces or it will arch . When you jump the terminals it should bump the started over. But if you have a volt meter do it that way ^
