i have heard a few different ways to adjust stud mount rockers but whats the best way to do it?

i have always made sure the lifter is on the base of the lobe then tighten the stud while spining the pushrod with your fingers until it barely stops then give it another additional 1/4 turn.

correct me if im wrong guys.

+1,although some people go 1/2 turn.

Just so I am clear as well as everyone else. What is barely stops?

When I have adjusted lifters I hear barely stops, but all I get is resistance when I am spinning them. They don't exactly stop but drag a little while I am spinning them.

So is it to the point of first resistance, or further? If so how much further? [Confused]

Correct.Tighten the nut to where you start to feel drag or resistance on the pushrod,thats zero lash.Then 1/4 to a 3/4 of a turn,depending on who you talk to on the adjustment.

Another note on adjusting:i hand turn the motor till the exhaust valve is all the way open then adjust that cylinders intake valve.Then hand turn the motor till the intake is all the way open and adjust the exhaust of that cylinder,repeat on all 8. [patriot]
