my buddies "89" 50 ideals fine but once you give it gas it just bogs out and is all shitty like its out of gas but yes its got gas!??

i was thinking fuel pump or fuel filter but if it was wouldnt it do it when it was idealing also?

Sounds like a vacuum leak, check the vacuum lines, the intake tubing between the MAF and the throttle body, and the upper-to-lower intake gasket.

I also had a problem not too long ago with the same symptom, and it turned out to be a dirty MAF wire. You need a special cleaner for that.

+1 for cleaning the maf first. It is very easy to do and you don't need to get under the car. Buy some electrical contact cleaner at a local hardware store. Carefully clean the small wires with the cleaner and a few q-tips. You will probably be suprised how much better the stang will run after cleaning it.

its running all good know! changed fuel filter first the old one was black it ran good for about 3mins. then back to shitty so pulled down tank and cleaned it out and got a different fuel pump and know runs fine. thanks

o ah filter on pump was really dirty also
