I need to replace my clutch in my 03 and am wondering what the specs are on the stock flywheel. I don't want to get a lightened one because I like how it revs now and don't want to loose the tq but I called Fidanza and they have no clue what the weight is or the material on the stock Cobra flywheel. I have seen some people say that its steel, others say its aluminum, I have no idea who to believe... Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Oh and I am going to go with the Centerforce DFX clutch.

If it truly is ~60% lighter than stock, ask the how much their flywheel weighs then multiply by 0.60.
I find it hard to believe it's that much lighter.
Like you said, the motor revs damn fast without a light flywheel.
The stock flywheel is not aluminum, the drive shaft is.
One more thing, it will be a PITA driving it on the street with such a light flywheel.

Thanks, yeah they told me on average their flywheels are 60% lighter than a factory unit, but thats for all of their aluminum flywheels for all cars... Yeah I just want to make sure that I am going with one thats close to the weight of the factory unit.

a stock 03-04 cobra flywheel weighs about 11-12lbs. and IS aluminum in stock form. a stock fly for any other modular car is about 24lbs....

i put one in my 01' cobra along with the clutch. cars revs much nicer now....i also have no problems driving /launching the car with the 4.30's... =)

Just have your Stock Aluminum flywheel resurfaced. They are GREAT flywheels! Don't worry about the lip from aluminum to the steel, it's no big deal to have it surfaced flat (aluminun & steel at same height). We've run the stock resurfaced 03 Cobra flywheels to mid 10's & 740RWHP.
