Hey guys. I was considering getting the Magnapack 3" exhaust for my '07 GT, but I'm afraid that the diameter is too big for my engine output. The stock piping is already 2.5" with mandrel bends. Almost seems wasteful. However, they don't sell the mufflers by themselves.

Does anyone know if the 3" cat-back will negatively effect the performance of the car as opposed to just changing the mufflers?

U will most likely lose some low end torque with that setup...I would look in to just getting a 2 1/2 axle back system for your car. The factory piping on the 05+ GT's is already great from the factory.....

I found a Magnapack 2 1/2" catback for you, but it seems stupid to buy the whole catback when the factory piping is already 2 1/2" ....

Thanks for those links. I actually had a set of Flowmasters like that haha. Sold them off. I do want the car to be pretty loud. I used to not, but I met a guy with a Ford GT running straight pipes the other day and I changed my mind. [Smile]

I knew they had to have 2.5" Magnapacks. You're right the cat-back being a waste. I think they have the axle back listed on Magnaflow's website as "Coming Soon". I'm going to YouTube the Bassani though as see what those sound like.

I'll definitely avoid the 3" piping then and look for a cheaper axle back. That should save me a lot of cash.

Thanks guys I appreciate your help and advice.

What about these:

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=MPE%2D14416&N=700+115&autoview=sku

And you can have an exhaust shop weld em' to the stock piping.
