hello guys i'm just wondering if the cobras with 302 really put out 235-240 hp i've read somewher that they lower the hp rating to fool insurance companys. it said that true hp was like 275 hp. just wondering if anyone has dyno stock cobra to find true hp rating.

I'd say a stock 94-95 Cobra normally see about 208-215rwhp....The computer/EEC I think is the biggest problem....To save the T5 transmissions they gave a lot of retard to the timming.....

I dont know about true hp, but i can till you this. I put a 94 cobra motor stock, except for a mass air meter and a 93 style intake. I went 12.85 in a full wt coupe that was with a/c. It has been a few years but i think the mph was around 106.

hey guys i found this. stating the his cobra pulled 240rwhp with little mods. quote This is my 1993 Mustang Cobra. It is close to stock. It has Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers, K&N, and off road H-pipe. That is it for the mods. The paint is the original paint that it came with from Ford. Interior is stock I took it to the Tulsa drag strip recently and it ran a 13.77 @ 100 MPH. I also put it on the dyno in October and it pulled 240 RWHP.

what you guys think?

My 93 was 237 rwhp in stock form, and that was with 62k on the clock. Only bolt ons were Ford Racing headers, Bassani off-road X pipe and flows.

It has a few more mods now. [Big Grin]
