i have a set of svo 1.6 rr in my stock valve covers and i am going to swap a set of 1.7s in will they clear of will i have to get a set of valve covers and i am also running a b-cam

Most people don't have a clearance problem with the (slightly) bigger rockers, and a moderately larger cam, except for some types of AL heads (e.g., Twisted Wedge). Could be wrong, 'cause I haven't used those heads.

If your valve covers don't fit, there are a few near-stock sized VC's which will. They usually have the oil baffles trimmed down, or removed. Look for the Motorsport EFI performance manifolds. EFI's are designed like stock replacement, to clear the throttle body. Most tall VC's interfere with the TB, requiring an intake spacer.

Canton has a really nice VC which claims to allows maximum rocker & TB clearance. They've very sharp, but expensive.

they will clear. If you havn't removed the baffel under the oil fill tube you will have to remove it now.
