Anybody know what the common fix is for the ABS warning light on an 01 GT? Got one that comes on intermittently.
Thanks

Wheel sensor or ABS unit is losing it's ground.

Pull the wheel sensors and clean off all the metal...I'm sure they are coated. For the ABS unit, check the harness.

Yup, was a big furry build up of metal shavings around the sensors-
Cleaned and fixed, thanks.

My 95 does this, i've cleaned the sensors and it still comes on. I've figured it only comes on if the temp outside is under 50 degrees and its wet. Thats the only time it ever comes on, during the summer i have no problems. Also i am always backing up when it comes on, when i move forward it either goes off or stays on until i turn the ignition off.

i have a 01 cobra and the abs light has been on. i took off the front wheels and cleaned the furry coat of metal shavings. the abs light is still on but the traction control works now. will it take a while for the sensors to dry up and make the light go off? where are the sensors on the rear of the cobra with the irs?

Rear sensors on a IRS are on the inboard side of the half-shafts.

I have an 00 GT that has the ABS light coming along with the traction control permanently off.
I cleaned off the furry coat of metal shavings on the wheel sensors, but the ABS light still comes on and the traction control does not work. Am I supposed to pull off the wheel sensor?
Also, I tried to connect to the computer to see if I could read a code for the ABS light being on, and it could not communicate. Any ideas?
