I'm getting my rear end done soon in the cobra but I'm not sure what weight gear oil I should use. I kno Ima order the royal purple brand but not sure what weight it runs stock or what's optimal for our weather and daily street driving

I like the new Amsoil SVG 75-110 it's a good compromise between the 75w-90 and the 75w-140.

So is the rating for gear oil the same as regular oil. Where the first nu,ber is how cold of a temp it can operate in and the second is the higher temp range?

the first number in an oil rating is the viscosity at freezing temp, the lower the number=the thinner the oil. The second number represents the viscosity level at normal operating temperature. Gear oil is rated the same but just has lots of additives
