what should my fuel pressure be at all points of the throttle such as idle cruising and wide open? i have 24 lb injectors with a 255lph pump for a 302 with trick flow intake and cam and afr heads, with bbk longtubes... thanks!

lets see... stock is 39.... i would put it at about 43-45

what should it be at at wide open throttle...should it stay the same?

stock with key on engine off is 30 psi, key on engine running is 35 psi. you can bump it up to 43-45, but in my opinion put it at what pure stang said and stand behind your car with the car on and see how bad your eyes burn after a few seconds.

*Im not sayin what pure stang said is wrong, but i would put it no more than 40 psi. Also, at wide open throttle, the fuel pressure should be the same as it is when the car is at idle --rick

what could cause my fuel pressure to drop? When i put it to the floor it drops down about 7-8 psi and then goes down a little more and stops

how old is the fuel pump?? Where is your fuel pressure gauge located at?? like is the gauge on the shrader (not sure how to spell that one) or is it going through a line then to a gauge??

[Big Grin] nice. . . .

so is the fuel pressure gauge right on the schrader valve or is it externally mounted like through a line?? --rick

The vacuum from the motor kicks the pressure down when you first hit the throttle, then it should come back up as the motor needs the fuel.

I'm pretty sure the pressure should acutally go UP at WOT.

At idle, with the vaccuum line hooked up to the regulator, manifold vaccuum will "pull up" on the regulator. As you go WOT, manifold vaccuum drops to 0 (i.e. relative to atmospheric pressure) and nothing is "pulling up" on the regulator fuel return valve.

When you set FP, you should set it with the vaccuum line off of the regulator and plugged up.
