I think the oil pump drive gears took a crap and toasted my motor. So I guess its time to go bigger.
The only things I know for sure is that I want around 550rwhp and someone local to do the work. So my my questions to you all are, where is the best place for modular motor work?
Should I have someone build a new short block or buy a used cobra block?
What should I do for a power adder?
This is going to be expensive,Anyone need a 65 fastback?

Josh, we built a motor in a 01 Roush at RPM. It has a Vortech and is safely making OVER 525ish at the wheels. It'll be at the shop for a stereo and some accessory work next week. It was dropped off tonight. Stop by and check it out if interested, it's got some trick shit on it, Reichard (sp?) Racing intake etc.
Sorry to hear of your latest misshap,
Don

Josh, the Roush that Don speaks of is also a 2 valve engine for the record. We do quite a bit of modular engines. We also manufacture the billet oil pump gears for the engines as well. Let me know if I can help you or answer any questions.

You guys at RPM have treated me very good , so you will more than likely be getting my business. I am trying to get an idea of where I want to go w/ this car. It has to Daley drive able and some where north of 500rwhp.I'm leaning toward a cobra short block w/ a Kenny Bell.

Wow!!! If I had a 65 Fastback, I couldnt dream of selling it. Anyway, about the Mach motor. If I was you, I would stick with an aluminum block, since they are about 60 lbs lighter than the cobra block.

Don't then... Save up a few bones or take out a small loan from a credit union!
If transportation is a concern, then buy a beater for a while to putt around in.

Get a 5.4L

there would be no need for the 5.4 seein as how the 4.6 blown would get there (his goals) with zero problems anyways.

Josh, BTW, the 2 valve we have here is daily driven and is completely smog legal going through 3" cats and all.
We also recently installed a Vortech onto a friends 04 Mach1. We upgraded the fuel system etc and hit 501 to the wheels and that car is more than daily driven. Since the SC install we've seen it for 2 oil changes (3k miles each) in 4 months.

I'm bringing it in friday to see what went wrong.
Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to put back in it.There is an 03 cobra block on here for sale, that and a kenny bell should do.If my block and crank are ok then a good set of rods and pistons will get me buy.
