Can I bolt the mechanical fuel pump from my 289 onto my H.O. 5.0 motor,I need to just to get running but I also want to know if any ones installed a eletric one into a 65' and if it's dificult to trun the fuel lines?

What year 5 liter?
If it has a fuel pump boss on the timing cover and a fuel pump eccentric bolted to the cam it should work.

To run a mechanical fuel pump on that motor you need to change the front cover, cam dowel pin and install the fuel pump eccentric that bolts to the front of the cam. You would be better off running a Holley blue pump with a regulator. The pump can be installed at the rear of the car without replacing all the fuel lines under the car.

Yeah I'm actually running a Holley Red Electric pump (Only hoping for 300whp so don't need a mass flowing pump) Thanks for the response's.
