hey guys i have a 1987 lx hatch, but when i close the hatch it will not latch. so i was wondering what the probleme would be? thanks for the help!

i got the same problem. your striker is probably just worn out. i just ordered a new one from 50resto.com for $32.95 plus shipping. for now i just rip a piece or cardboard or fold up some paper and wrap it around the striker. it will last for a few openings and then would have to replace it.

sup man. take a look at the striker on the latch. (where the hatchback itself will secure itself to). looks like a plastic ring, which in your case might be cracked or missing.

if you want just that piece youll probably have to look at a junkyard, otherwise buy the whole striker.

for the striker I would try the junk yard. The other problem is the lock.

i have the same problem with my car, i just used some duct tape and wrapped it. havent had a problem since and its been almost a year
