This is a 2000 Ford Focus.
Car wouldn't turn over after cranking. If you gas it it stays on only during the time that you have the throttle down for.
If you unplug the MAF it runs. I took the MAF sensor off to clean it and it looked like new.
Any ideas?

all the connections (Wires) seemed to be intact...could it still be a bad MAF sensor...what about a common fuel problem...any other suggestions.

Im pretty sure no maf will cause a rich condition. I myself would...
check spark and fuel (id make sure the wires pass a visual Then I would pull the plugs to see whats, what-and possibly narrow it down to 1 cylinder.2nd Fuel (fuel filter, pump, relay) Can you post a pic of the plugs? Keep track of what cylinder it came out of.

what did you use to clean it? they are VERY delicate sensors, and yes, if the maf is damaged and sending a bad or no signal, the car will go rich to protect itself
