1989 gt... my car has a cooling problem, sometimes it runs cool, sometimes it runs hot. when its cool it runs perfect, but when it is hot its pings really bad when i get on it. im not so worried about the cooling problem b/c that will be fixed soon, but i want to know why it pings only when hot. i have checked the timing numerous times and it is always at 10*. any input is appreciated!

Excessive heat can make the engine ping. When you fix your cooling problem your pinging will probably go away too.
