sounds like a throw out bearing to me.

check your throw out bearing and your throw out bearing retainer.

i had the same problem, and my throw out bearing retainer ended up being split in half.

+1 for the throwout bearing. mine went out on my 96 and it squealed like a B*+#@. and believe me it will only get worse. but at least its an excuse to upgrade your clutch hardware while your down there

that sounds like a broken throw out bearing retainer.

Its the bearing. you will see when you pull the tranny. the litte bearins inside of it will probably come falling out when you pull of the throwout bearing. i believe if u wait 2 long tho u could fuck up the shaft it slides on.

How much does that cost to fix??? Are you guys sure that's the problem cause its like if you just rest your foot on the clutch it stops...kinda seem like there's a little extra slack in the clutch.

you can get a throwout bearing from summit for like 20 bucks or less and make sure you go with the ford one. but the problem is that in order for you to change it you have to pull the tranny. so thats why i suggested that you do your clutch as well since you have to pull the tranny out. so if you know how to do it yourself then it wont be expensive at all. but if you have to go to a shop u might as well do it all at once. mine went out because the clutch fork wasnt resting on the throwout bearing properly. that can be caused by the cable not being run right or the clutch fork being bent. But i had the exact same thing happen in my cobra. it would squeal until i tapped it a little and it would stop. but its only going to progressively get worse. whens the last time you changed your clutch? have you made any adjustments to it recently to affect the bearing?

I haven't messed with anything. I bouught the car about 5 months ago and its been like this....so since I'm down there all I might as well change out the clutch, throw out bearing and what else?? New fly wheel???

WHile your down there you should replace the clutch and get your flywheel resurfaced. the resurface should only cost you around 50 bucks at most machine shops. or you could upgrage the flywheel if you have the money to blow. On top of that you should replace the pilot bearing and the throw out bearing. Most kits come with one of em but i cant remember which. Your also going to want to replace the clutch cable if you havent already. over time as the clutch wears the cable will stretch. I actually had my clutch cable snap and had to ride 1st gear all the way home

1.Clutch and pressure plate
2.Resurface the flywheel or buy new one
3.Pilot bearing
4.Throwout bearing
5.Clutch Cable

What's the difference between the clutch cable kit and the clutch cable and quadrant kit??? The clutch cable is just like $40 and the clutch and quadrant kit is like $130...which should I get and also which brand is beter...BBK or FMS??

I think the quadrant kit makes the clutch cable adjustable, so you can change when it engages/disengages. I've read that the stock quadrant being plastic makes for worn out teeth.. so you might as well go aftermarket.
