I was at the Infenion track last Wednesday, and damn did I run shitty. I ran 15.143 as my best for the nite.. I have a 89 Notch, with a Supercharged 302...it has, rebuilt block, trick flow twisted wedge heads, with trick flow lifters, 24lbs fuel injectors, Trick flow track heat intake manifold, 70mm BBK throttle body and EGR plate, Granetelli mas air flow sensor,BBK shorty headers, bbk catback exhuast and magnaflow mufflers, Powerdyne Supercharger 6psi, When I would get to 6k r.p.m, it would would lose power, like if it had run out of gas, so I would have to shift at 5500 rpm.it has a stock transmission and clutch, 3.55 gears, with good BF goodrich g-force tires..so Im guessing I may need a new computer?or some sort of programmer, chip, etc...what do you guys recommend? Thanks Allot!!

I just did whole bunch of work to my car as well. and the computer is tweakin' Its not accepting the program that was designed for all the add on parts.
as a result I have to go back to the dealer where I bought the car and see if I need a new computer or just reflash it.

Are you getting traction? Do you have a boost guage? Are you actaully seeing 6lbs of boost?

Your injectors are definitely too small for your combo.

i bet he is using the stock fuel pump also.

get some 42lbers,255lph intank pump(maybe also a inline pump),and a afpr, and a tune and your fuel prob will be solved.

Well the tires are good..they are BF goodrich G-force..i have a 255lpg fuel pump..and a E-303 cam, the setup is kool..I have my 0-60 time slips at home..but I do remember they were shitty...I have a good setup..other then a computer chip or tuner that can help it...My boost was hitting 6psi at 1st but then only hit 3psi cause my belt was slipping..i took care of that problem..but it still shouldnt be going that slow...Im pretty sure its gotta that I need a Tuner and a chip..any recommendations with that?...and also..isnt 24lbs fuel injectors good enought for a 6psi supercharger?

24's are too small considering you have H/C/I in addition to the blower. you probably want to go with 36's or 42's.

Get a custom dyno tune with an SCT chip. 93Pony here on this site does some good work.

It's strange that your car is running that slow even w/o a tune. The car should run pretty good with that setup. What's your fuel pressure set at? Are you sure that you don't have any mechanical issues?

Im going to take my car to my mechanic that put the engine together and installed it..But 1st I gotta get a chip and tuner..Im also probably going to ask him what he recommends,,but I would wan tto know what other mustang owners recommend for chip and tuners..its jsut very wierd how which such a good setup im running shitty times..Maybe its just me the driver..lol..naw..I can handle that car..I just know for a fact its missing soemthing..cause the block is rebuilt..on this whole engine, top an buttom en I have 1,700 miles on it..and whe I drive it on the street it pulls good..I feel the supercharger work when I get to 4k rpm.

If the car doesn't have any of the "base" items (FP, timing, TPS v, etc) correct, I don't care if it's "assembled" correctly...it won't work. The injectors are fine if the fuel pressure, pump size, and a FMU is used. From what you've posted, the belt slip could be the main cause. As for a chip, I don't see it solving your problems. Get the mechanical problems sorted out first.

You're gonna need an msd box too along with the fuel upgrades.

what plugs are you running and to what gap?

wouldnt the 24lbers be maxing out right when the boost comes on? and run lean all throughout the rest of the powerband?

Hense the "FMU". [Big Grin]

A MSD is nice, but not needed. Run 3924's gapped at .035. It's only 6psi folks, not 10. [Wink] This could be something as simple as the wrong plugs (read:stock) gapped at .054.

ya ya ya, get an msd anyway, you'll get used to 6 and want 10... then 14... [burnout]

What is your MPH at the end of the run??????

What MAF are you running in support of your 24lb injectors?

Losing power at 6000rpm is probably normal in your case since your only running a E303. If you mean that it was cutting out perhaps you are getting spark blowout at high rpm. This is where I see an aftermarket coil/ignition would come into play. Don't be suprised at the lack of performance. You can have all the great pieces put on the car, but if the combo is wrong you will still get lackluster-ass performance.

To be honest..if I were you...I would not run the car hard until you get the correct pieces in place. Going lean(not enough fuel volume/quality) can melt a piston fast! As a final step go for a chip/tweecer/pms to make it safe.
