You can buy my edelbrock performer for $400. It's practically brand new.

I might be selling my intake very soon and going a all edelbrock too end

Hey Pete would you take $300 for the intake?what intake are you getting now?

Posted by 92stangLX (Member # 3252) on :

Either intake will work great. If I had those two choices I would take the Trick Flow.

Trick Flow [patriot]

A Cobra and GT40 intake aren't the best if you plan on installing heads...You can't port a GT40 and you'd have to port the Cobra to support high flow cylinder heads...

My vote is for an Edelbrock Performer, which out-flows both stock Ford intakes and supports porting and or switching just the upper manifold for a different power band/combo..

Good luck

they did a test on all those intakes, rpm and gt-40came out on top but i would get the rpm 2.

Posted by jmoney347 (Member # 4702) on :

the rpm 2 is a great intake but its a little too much moneywise if you aren't going with a big cam stroker motor. trickflow is always great. i told you i have a brand new streetheat zero miles with the 1" spacer for $400 if you want it.

My Trick Flow SH intake in damn near new condition is available for $350.

I still have a brand new in the box track heat upper intake for 185.00 You can buy a lower for like 200 or so brand new and have a "new' intake for under 400.00 dollars [Big Grin]

In your first post you said you plan on getting heads, cam etc. What kind of cam or heads will you get in the future? You should get something that will work well with you planned mods so you do not have to go back and swap intakes again.

i was thinking twisted wedge.and either e cam or trickflow stage 1.then bigger throttle body injectors fuel pump.etc.But in the far future i plan on putting in a 347.for now im lookign to get arounf 350HP or so.which intake do u think would fit my needs better?.if nto twusted wedge then matching heads for the gt-40.

Don't put the E cam in there. I had an E cam put in about 5 year's ago when there wer'nt that many choices. Now I happened to get a used shortblock that has an F cam in it which is alot better than the E cam and pull's hard till 6500 rpm's. Last month's issue of MM&FF has a good article in it about the Anderson cam's and has some useful information that should help You out. Do some homework and see what combo's work good together before You spend a bunch of money and don't end up with what You want.

Not sure how much of a difference there will be between the TFS intake and the GT40. I'm guessing there won't be very much. The GT40 intake will work good with your TFS heads. I would recommend porting the lower if you decide to go with the GT40.

Don't get an e-cam get a TFS stage 1 cam [patriot]

GT40 & Cobra intakes are BOTH restrictions compared to the TFS intakes.

Posted by jmoney347 (Member # 4702) on :

hidnn.o.s is absolutly right about that. those ford intakes with starve your cylinders especially in higher rpm

Posted by hidnn.o.s. (Member # 1219) on :

The GT40 and Cobra intakes are great intakes to throw on basic to stock motors, but when you add heads, cam etc they become restrictions.

ok so im gonan go with trickfolow then,so my question now is,street heat or track heat? .mototr is pretty stock now.will teh trach heat not do much for me now until i get heads cam etc? or should i stick with street heat for what i have now and what i plan on getting?> thanks

Posted by hidnn.o.s. (Member # 1219) on :

I'd stick with the street heat. Being N/A you'll want the lower end power since I doubt you will be taking it to 6,500RPM's.

Im [Confused] as usual... The whole time the argument has been about more airflow but then hes told to get the smallest TFS intake??

..............He's asking for the best flowing intake for his combo, as I see it...............

He's N/A so clearly the RPM II/Holley Systemax intakes will not help him at all. Also the Cobra and GT40 do not flow enough. So a great middle ground intake for him will be the Street Heat intake.

Understand [Confused]

and the track heat is more for boosted applications.
