hey guys, i went to a shell gas station about 20 min ago and a little sticker said this gas MAY contain 10% ethonal.

First off i put about 1 gal in, then stoped. I'll get gas some where else tomorrow.

But i was wondering with my mods and tune will this stuff hurt my car? And what is it supposed to do????

if i start using that stuff vs. others that dont have ethonal will it matter?

I have a CAI, 70mm T/B, Plennum, pro chamber, mac cat back, FRPP D/S, 3.73's and a diablo predator with a tune from a local shop.

From my understanding and conversations with a couple people, Ethanol needs has a different stoichiometric burning point than gas and needs to be run richer. This may cause issues with your current tune up. I just popped a piston and cometic headgasket in my blower car that was tuned on pump gas with no problems. Made 15 pulls, air/fuel was pretty good, no detonation, took it out on the street and bang. Don't know if it was related to the ethanol in the gas, or just a bad batch of 91, but I will be mixing race gas from now on.

10% Ethanol isn't going to make much difference. You'll be fine.

As for poppin' a HG...either the tune was incorrect or the conditions from the tune changed. Meaning, it was tuned in 70* weather and it changed to 90* or a part failed.
