is the 94-95 cobra alternator hook up the same as the PA performance one. i know they are both 130 amps but will the 94-95 ones hook up with minor modification on a 88 5.0. thanks guys

yes I believe so. You will have to clearance/modify your alt bracket slightly to fit the bigger unit in there. Worth the upgrade IMO, I went with PA performance alt. Good Luck [patriot]

you still havent changed them?
i told you to change them like months ago.

you dont have to swap pullies but the stock 3g pulley is HUGE , so its a underdive pulley basicly
so i swaped it for a 2g pulley.

it should put out more voltage at idle with the stock 2g pulley.

Whats the best way to run the cable to the battery post so that it looks clean?

Tuck it around the radiator. I don't know how to exactly explain it. Just scope it out, its not that hard. [Wink]

if you want a electrical fire use the stock wiring [Razz]
the new alt put out the max power of the stock alt at idle so once your driving its putting out way more power than the stock alt and resistence creates heat.
