my stang keeps cool at idle for a while . after when i drive it like 10 mins later the temp is damn near at 200 degrees. i changed the sending unit and coolant temp sensor also. but still having the same problem.

Im currently running an 16" electric fan, frpp a/c delete,160 temp thermostat, new water pump, stock radiator and 50/50 prestone coolant.

my fan is mounted in the engione compartment acting as a pusher i believe. should it be a puller mounted in front of the radiator?

im looking maybe to upgrade my radiator but whats best should i get brass, alum. 2 or 3 row???

my car is mostly stock except for a few bolt ons.

any tips are appreciated

For one, get the 160* out and put in a 180* thermostat. I bet your stock radiator is clogged since its most likely original. Also, I would relocate the fan to inside the engine compatment as a puller. I would suggest the Ford Racing Aluminum radiator.

i have it mounted in the compartment but switched to a toggle. should i run it when the temp gets near 180 or should i get and adjustable thermostat for the fan?

Have you checked to see if the fan is turning in the right direction?

If you have the original radiator, it has probably seen better days.

Go get an autozone 3 core radiator.

Also get rid of the 160 and get a 180.

How are you controlling your e-fan? Are you sure it is coming on when it is supposed to?

i have it on a toggle i turn it on when my gauge reads 180 degrees.

autozone rads are garbage. i wont buy one even with my discount there. im looking for a fluidyne or frpp one.

a toggle is no way to cool a motor.

My autozone rad has been awesome, as has 5 dozen people's rads on corral.net.

What fan are you running and what is the CFM rating?

I would start by flushing out your radiator. If that doesn't work then I would either have it rodded out or (better yet) buy an upgraded radiator like a Ford Racing or Summit aluminum.
