My new 302 engine is done . Installed and primed with oil . I need to stab the distributor and I would really like to get it right. Its a stock distributor. Any tips or tricks ? Thanks

Pull # 1 plug. Crank until U get the compression stroke. Check Pointer on harmonic balancer. You should be very close to 0 BTDC. Align distributer with rotor at #1 at cap.

Good Luck.

Pro M used to recommend 30 degrees before top dead center on your compression stroke. Found this to be more accurate. Set the distributor so the rotor points toward the center of the number 1 terminal.
