Did you check to see if anything else in the intake tube was damaged?

BTW, how did you blow out your mass air?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Have you started the car and listened for hissing or sucking sounds under the hood?

If you blew the intake tubing apart then you may have blown something else out of its normal position as well. That doesn't necessarily mean you broke a part of the motor etc.

It could be something simple like a vacuum hose that was dislodged at the rear of the intake or it could be a number of other things.

Try checking for leaks first. It is simple and, not to mention, FREE.

Inspect the path of tubing between the mass air and to the throttle body. Look for any cracks or leaks.

the path looks clean no cracks. how do i test the egr valve if its gd.

FYI-if you want to test for vaccum leaks spray carb cleaner around all vaccum lines and if there is a crack or leak it will idle up. typically a vaccum leak will give you little or no idle at all.

the EGR has nothing to do with idle
it can only be a vacumm leak ,TPS sensor,MAF sensor, IDLE air control valve

EGR only works when under load such as cruzing

still need some kind of help to determine what the problem is with my car. tried spraying for a leak, tested idle valve. just havent tested mass air. will a mass air from a 89 work with my 94 gt?

Put a hose on a propane torch. Turn the gas on. Do not light it. Put the hose near intake and surrounding area to find your vacuume leak. The RPM will go higher when the leak is located. No it will not blow up. The propane will be sucked into the vacuume leak and be burned off in the engine. Its easyer than using carb cleaner.
