my car is running like shit, it will idle from about 800 to 1300. not sure what it could be. it did it before and then went away instantly. it started doing it again. it sounds like the timing could be off but i have not touched the distributor or anuthing else i pretty much drive it to work and back and thats all. any advice will help thanks,nick

your idle positioning sensor(IPS) could be bad or just not set right. check the voltage, it should be i think like .95 or .98 of a volt. good luck

Your talking about the throttle positioning sensor (TPS) and it should be set to .999 volts (as close to 1 volt as you can get it). If anything it could be the air idle motor plugged up but it has the little update plate that fixes the hunting idle problem.

i think its a missfire, because at like 2000 rpm you can still hear it missing [Smile] hopefully it will be just a tune up. so get down to get the stuff nick....... [Smile]
