What kind of alternator are you running? Sounds like your using more than the alt. can deliver with the amp hooked up

You need to read the voltage that the alternator is putting out with a volt meter. Also make sure your alt. is wired in correctly and also your amp.

You might have a short somewhere. Did you ground the negative correctly and take a metal brush to get a good grounding surface.
Did you use 2g wire or bigger? Check your connectors.

check to make sure your amp is wiring up right, it could have been wired to always stay on, wire it with a power led from the deck, so when the deck turns on the amp turns on.
