My brother has a 90 GT that got flooded in Vacaville. The flood water is now gone and my brother is bummed out. I popped the hood today and water went up to the valve covers and steering wheel on the inside. What kind of damage to expect? The rain storm came in and it into the garage because of the slippery muddy roads. Anyy help will be good..

it will have problems pretty much for ever most likely. the electrical systems will continue to corrode. Make sure you take out the plugs and spin the engine to make sure there is no water inside, before trying to start it. If it runs ok, clean it up and sell it.

The computer will no doubt be shot. make sure you dont have water in the cylinders, change all the fluids and see if it runs.....

That sucks, but you should pull all the seats and console and get the carpet out of there so stuff can begin drying or it will start to mildew, all the electrical down the road will probably be his biggest issue. I am sorry to hear about that, or any wounded mustang.

I will try to give you some hope.
Again, pull all of the plugs to get any and all of the water out of the engine. Then put the plugs back in and start the car.
Pull the carpet and seats out so everything can dry.
The problem is with the electrical. It will keep corroding and could cause a fire. Get a new wiring harness and computer from a good car.
I just bought a fender and a door from Erin (SP?), cool guy on here, and it seems he may have some parts to help you.
You can call him at: 408-420-6004
Since you have to pull all the interior out it should not be much more work to install a new harness.
Sorry to hear that and best of luck!

Sorry to hear that, man! Your brother should do the right thing and not pawn it off on someone else, only so they can have problems down the road. Part it out. It's a little bit of work but he'll probably make more $$ than if he were to sell it outright.

Yeah that is what I told him. And he knows . I told him to part it, but he doesn't want to mess with taken it apart. We just had the motor out this summer to freshen it up. New gaskets ,oil pump, rear main,Edelbrock timing chain,PP Intake, MAC Cold air,PP balancer,MAC headers, all new hoses, belts, motor mounts,ps pump , water pump, starter, solenoid, battery, Chrome Cobra R's with maybe 8,000 miles on them. He wants to sell the whole thing to one guy. The car was very reliable and was a daily driver from Vacaville to San Quentin everyday. Oh it also has brand new headlights and side markers(he got'em for X-mas)I'm going to get some pics later today if anyone is interested in the car.
Thanks
Danny
