Finished my heater core and works great,...HOT HOT HOT. No leaks that I can find so far and I went ahead and replace the red dash face with a black one...heater core was a cake walk compaired to the face swap.

Get my new carpet in this Thursday and wanted to know the best way to cut the new holes,... I can only think of pulling the old one out and putting it on top of the new one then cut the holes. If there is another way a better way please let me know.

Weren't you asking about this job over a year ago

Glad you got heat again! remove your center console and seats. Put the new carpet in and cut where you need to get the E-brake in, then the shifter hole, seat bolt holes etc. It's easy, you'll see as you go.

lol...yeah I learned a lot by helping out a buddy do his. Built enough confidence in myself to try it on mine. Total time was about 7 hours with the face swap. My seats and center console are completely removed. I got new black seats to put in. Rears are leather and fronts are leatherate <----spelling. Only thing to complete my black conversion is mint condition arm rest pads and patching the passenger door panel...has a rip.

So you think it will be easier to just put the new one in then cut and not use the old one as a sort of stencile?

Yes I do. I've installed two on my own. Works well this way. When you cut the holes for the seats put the bolts on to lock it in place so then it cannot shift around etc.

Glad you have heat again

Thanks....I never really used the heater but I did get tired of the coolant condinsation comeing from the vents everytime I drove...and having to add coolant all the time.

I'll try your method with the carpet..sounds simple enough thanks.

PS...do you really have over 10K posts!?

lol...serious? That kinda sucks,...makes you look like one of two things....well established member or a big whore

let you know how my carpet install goes...little nervous to cut...you use any special blade? I have a box cutter and a dry wall knife

he's a big whore..
Carpet is not hard.. but take your time when making the cuts. don't cut more than you have to.
good luck. you can use a utility blade..
